Ganbina Business Luncheon guest speaker Don Blackmore provided an interesting insight to the future of irrigation in the Goulburn Valley and its impact on the economy. Mr Blackmore was able to draw upon his experience as Chairman of CSIRO’s Water for a Healthy Country and to his current work with the World Bank on the Mekong, Brahmaputra, Indus and Nile rivers, to paint a picture of water issues across the world stage.

The event was attended by 50 senior business and community leaders. It provided for the opportunity to gain insights for further planning and networking. Ganbina Executive Officer, Mr Adrian Appo was very pleased with the outcome for the day, “we saw a gap within our community to access speakers at the national and international level, and this is our way of supporting the business community that in the long term support us”.

The first of three such luncheons planned for the year, the event was jointly funded though the City of Greater Shepparton Drought Relief Funds. The saying that there’s no such thing as a free lunch still holds true, attendees were requested to make a donation, with $731.00 being raised for the Goulburn Valley Community Trust.
