Monday, 19 December 2005

Some 100 family and friends joined together at the Rumbalara Football Netball Club to celebrate the success of the 2005 Ganbina Youth Achievement Award recipients on 16th December 2005.

The Awards, established in 2004, recognise the significant achievements of Indigenous youth in the areas of education, training and employment. The awards in their second year of operation were extended to include:

  • The Shepparton State Member award, presented by the local State Member for parliament Jeanette Powell to the highest achiever in each category area.
  • Ganbina Youth of the Year, awarded to the highest overall achiever.

“The awards are a celebration and acknowledgement of what has been achieved in a successful year” Ganbina Chairman Neville Atkinson said.
