Ladders to Success

Ladders to Success,’ facilitates the transition of young (under 25) indigenous people from full time education in years 11-12 or accredited training into the workforce. The concept is about being able to assist everyone to move one step up the Ladder of Success and lessening the number of indigenous youth entering the unemployment environment. The model:

Focuses on mainstreaming indigenous employment
Finding career paths through full-time jobs in skilled or professional areas
Links employment assistance to identifying further education and training options, and
Aims at real and sustainable employment rather than welfare wages.

‘ Ladders to Success , assistance includes careers guidance, employment readiness assessment, links to potential employers and assistance with targeted pre-employment expenses. The program provides a progression for indigenous youth completing Ganbina’s Jobs 4 U 2 program that targets students in Years 7 – 10.

The current project (Ladders III) builds on earlier projects conducted by Ganbina (see Ladders to Success I & II). Ladders III has been made possible by financial support provided by the AMP Foundation through Social Ventures Australia
